Full Professor at the Mining Engineering Department of Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University
of Lisbon)
since 2004. In 1988 he obtained his Ph.D. with a thesis on Mine Planning (Data
Analysis and Multivariate Geostatistics. An application to ore typology).
He has published more than 75 papers in Scientific Journals, Books and
International Conferences Proceedings. He has participated in and
co-ordinated several national and international R & D Projects. His
main field is Data Analysis and Multivariate Spatial Statistics applied to
Natural Resources and Environmental Modelling.
